Two ZJA projects in the Schiphol Airport Library

14.03.2022

The Airport Library at Schiphol Airport now features a selection of the most appealing buildings by Dutch architects to be seen abroad. Among them are the bicycle bridge in Tessenderlo and the DWTC pedestrian bridge in Dubai by architects ZJA.

Airport Library
The Airport Library - designed by Superuse Studios - is on Holland Boulevard at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. In the passageway between Lounge 2 and Lounge 3, travellers can become acquainted with Dutch art and culture. The collections of Dutch literature and music, and the exhibitions, have now been joined by an Architecture app.

Dutch Architecture app
On a large screen, travellers can look up buildings by Dutch architects that can be seen abroad. Architecture historian Marcel Teunissen has selected 116 buildings, spread over 107 cities in 43 countries, built over the past 100 years. The app presents a photo of the Tessenderlo bicycle bridge, the DWTC pedestrian bridge in Dubai and each of the other buildings, together with information about them.

The app was created in cooperation with the Project Dutch Architecture Abroad Foundation, which aims to raise awareness of Dutch architecture abroad.
