Steel-concrete viaduct, Alkmaar

Viaduct across highway A9, Alkmaar

In The Netherlands there are not many bridges with a construction of steel and concrete. The viaduct in Alkmaar is constructed with a stainless steel exterior and a concrete interior. By attaching shear connectors to the steel, we obtained a constructive whole.

This makes it possible to realise a low construction height and at the same time to build an extremely elegant construction. Stainless steel requires very little maintenance.
