Winter Lecture - Amsterdam in scaffolds - Zuidasdok

24.01.2019

In January and February, Architecture Centre Amsterdam organizes the Winter Lectures: A series of lectures on the large-scale area development in Amsterdam for which they selected six projects including Zuidasdok. On January 27th, Reinald Top, ZJA Zwarts & Jansma Architects, and Jeroen van Schooten, Team V Architecture, will give a lecture about the Zuidasdok project; the largest infrastructure project in the Netherlands today.

The Zuidasdok project is aimed at improving the accessibility of the Northern Randstad and the Zuidas. ZuidPlus Architects is responsible for the architectural design and landscape integration of the Zuidasdok project. ZuidPlus Architects consists of ZJA, Team V Architecture and Bosch Slabbers Garden and Landscape Architects.

The Amsterdam Zuid station is one of the fastest growing stations in the Netherlands. In the coming years, the number of travellers will continue to increase. Moreover, the A10 motorway is one of the busiest motorways in the Netherlands. To improve the accessibility of the city of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Zuid station will be completely modernized and expanded. In addition, the A10 motorway will be widened and partially brought underground.

The preparatory works for Zuidasdok started last year. This year the construction of the project will begin.
