Silt Middelkerke wins Architecture Masterprize 2024!

International recognition

That the design of Silt Middelkerke is valued by international professional juries and the public is evident. Silt has already won the International Architecture Award, appeared twice earlier this year on the longlist for the ARC24 Awards, won two BLT Awards, and is currently among the nominees for the Belgian Construction Awards and the Archello Awards 2024, in the mixed-use category.

The winners of the Belgian Construction Awards will be announced on December 5 in Brussels.

Sustainable design with a distinctive appearance

The design of Silt Middelkerke combines several goals: a new event building (with a casino, hotel, multifunctional space, and underground parking garage), dike reinforcement, a car-free seaside promenade, and improved public space.

The design by the Nautilus team creates a connection between the building and the landscape, with a striking hotel tower serving as a landmark above a newly developed dune landscape.

The Nautilus Consortium is a collaboration between developer Debuild, lead designers ZJA (architecture) and DELVA (landscape architecture), OZ (casino and hotel design), Bureau Bouwtechniek (executing architect), and contractors TM Furnibo-Democo, assisted by experts from COBE, VK Engineering, Beersnielsen, Witteveen+Bos, Plantec, MINT, and Sertius.

About the Architecture Masterprize

The Architecture Masterprize (AMP) was established in 2016 to promote the appreciation and recognition of outstanding design. It offers global recognition for creativity and innovation in architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design. A jury of professionals from the architecture world selects the winners, and the award is presented annually.
